Bloggers’ Choice Award

And the nominees are…

But hang on a sec. This year’s voting is quite different from last year’s. In order for us to accurately tally the bloggers who voted, we jazzed up the voting a bit and made it more exciting.

To vote, you MUST be a Filipino blogger, which means, you need to own a blog. You might be blogging on Blogger, WordPress.Com, Live Journal, Friendster, Multiply, or on a self-hosted blog—it doesn’t matter—the point is, you need to have a blog to vote. Your blog must be established at least three (3) months from today with a minimum of 10 posts.

Why? Well, read on for the instructions on how to vote for your favorite Bloggers’ Choice Award nominee!

  • Choose only ONE (1) blog from the list of official Bloggers’ Choice Award nominees above. On your blog, tell us why you voted for the nominee. Yes, you can vote for your own blog. And no, you cannot vote for a blog that is not on the list of official Bloggers’ Choice Award nominees.
  • Make sure that the links to the websites of the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards sponsors are included in your post. You MUST include the sponsor links to validate your vote.

  • Submit your post URL and some basic info to the Philippine Blog Awards committee using this form. Make sure that you provide the COMPLETE URL of the post you created for your vote to be valid.

Once you have submitted your vote post URL, wait for the confirmation from one of our committee members. Please be patient, we will manually go through each and every vote post to make sure it’s valid.

So what will you get out of this? Well, aside from the fact that you will make your favorite blogger happy, a valid Bloggers Choice Award vote entitles you one (1) raffle entry.

ONE BLOGGER = ONE VOTE = ONE RAFFLE ENTRY

Prizes? Stay tuned. :)

Blog Action Week: People Power 2

Beterano ako ng EDSA2!

Bloggers’ Kapihan 3 Event

January 19, 2-5PM
Kape Tasyo (Freedom Bar)
Anonas. Quezon City

From the Bloggers’ Kapihan website:

Seven years — yes, seven years — have passed since the four days that redefined People Power culminated in the ouster of the president with the biggest electoral mandate in Philippine history and we in Bloggers Kapihan invite you to remember. […] we want you to act by picking up a pen or going to the computer to tell your story, your version of what happened on Jan. 16-20 and your dreams for the country.

Others for instance, may choose to fast forward to 2008 and assess what has happened to the country seven years since People Power 2. Were we betrayed? Were our efforts wasted by some persons who benefited from it? Is it a national failure, or a warning that a similar fate may befall the incumbent?

To make this all worthwhile and useful to ourselves and the world, BK will open a special website at http://peoplepower2.bloggerskapihan.com (please don’t forget to link to it and this post) where we will put your posts and feature the really good ones. Let this be our humble contribution to reviving our pride in ourselves as a people, and to inspiring all of us never to lose hope for the only country we can call our own.

Don’t let others to rewrite People Power 2 as if it meant nothing. We made history in 2001 and now’s a good time to remember and to write it the way we saw and see it.

Go to the Bloggers’ Kapihan website for some People Power 2 badges you can use on your blog.

Finally!

Hi everyone! This is Shari of Misteryosa.com.

I’d like to express my gratitude to Page Philippines Web Hosting Solutions for sponsoring my brother’s website. The site’s former host has problems that led it to terminate hosting accounts. No big deal, really, but I loved it despite the ever-so-often downtimes.

I’ve imported his entries from his old blog in WordPress.com. And thanks to the power of syndicated feeds, I can try to salvage some posts using a feed reader. So please pardon the sudden flood of posts while I’m trying to take things back in order here. :)

Anyway, my brother and I recently attended the following events: Mrs. Fields’ Second Coming & Blog and Soul Movement Formal Launch, and SM Hypermarket’s Taste Asia Part 2. Those were the places where some people approached me and said they couldn’t access RobbyCruz.info. I didn’t know about it, so much thanks to them (especially Benj) for informing me about it.

Brother and I had fun, but we didn’t get to take photos from the events. We were too busy socializing with the other bloggers. :D
